Terms of Use
The subscription terms, refund policy, and boundaries for this parent-owned organization tool.
Who provides the service
These Terms are an agreement between you and School Support Desk LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company.
Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 and be the child's parent, legal guardian, or another adult legally authorized to maintain the information you enter. You may not give a child independent access or enter information you are not authorized to possess or use.
What the tool does
School Support Desk organizes information you provide across one or more child profiles, supplies general drafting templates, records dates you choose, prepares meeting and recap material, tracks user-entered actions, maintains a document index without document uploads, and lets you export or delete your records. It does not verify facts, access school systems, send messages, calculate statutory deadlines, monitor legal notices, or act on your behalf.
Optional AI assistance
AI Assist is optional and runs only when you deliberately request it. It sends only the selected issue type, facts, what remains unresolved, desired next step, and tone for processing. It does not send a child profile, other issue history, meetings, action items, document-index entries, or documents. The non-AI templates, organization, tracking, export, and deletion tools continue to work without AI Assist.
The core deterministic organization and wording tools work without AI. When AI Assist is displayed as available, an active subscription may use up to 20 request attempts per calendar month, subject to availability and an overall service limit. The allowance resets at the start of the next calendar month in Coordinated Universal Time. A request counts when you submit it for processing, including when OpenAI cannot return a usable draft. The limit may be adjusted prospectively after updated notice, but it will not create a separate per-assist charge without your agreement.
AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate for your situation. It is not legal, medical, educational, therapeutic, mental-health, or professional advocacy advice. Review and edit every result, compare it with official notices and reliable sources, and obtain qualified help when needed. Do not rely on AI Assist to determine rights, deadlines, eligibility, safety steps, or what a school must do.
Language availability
The current service, policies, and printables are provided in English. A Spanish interface and Spanish printables are deferred until qualified human translation and review are complete. Do not treat an automatic browser or machine translation as an official School Support Desk translation.
No professional advice or relationship
The service is not legal, medical, educational, therapeutic, mental-health, crisis, or professional advocacy advice. It does not create an attorney-client, clinician-patient, therapist-client, advocate-client, fiduciary, or school-family relationship. Templates and timing suggestions are general organizational aids, not conclusions about rights or obligations.
Deadlines, emergencies, and safety
Follow-up dates in the app are reminders you select—not legal or school deadlines. Review official notices and applicable rules and obtain qualified help when a right, appeal, evaluation, meeting, safety issue, or deadline may be involved. Do not use the app for emergencies, crisis response, mandatory reporting, or immediate threats to a child or another person.
Your responsibility for content
You are responsible for reviewing every template and AI-assisted draft before using it; preserving official records elsewhere; protecting the device and unencrypted exports; confirming any caregiver-handoff recipient; and keeping entries factual, relevant, and no more identifying than necessary. Avoid information about unrelated students, families, or staff unless it is necessary and lawful for your own record.
Subscription and automatic renewal
A new customer who chooses the monthly plan pays $1 for the first month before applicable tax, then the subscription automatically renews each month at $7 until canceled. The introductory price is available once per customer and account; returning customers pay $7 when restarting the monthly plan. The annual plan has no introductory discount and is charged at $58 upfront for 12 months, then renews each year at $58 until canceled. Stripe Checkout will show the selected amount, renewal schedule, and any applicable taxes before you subscribe.
A customer who remains on an earlier subscription continues under the price and schedule shown in that customer's Stripe billing portal unless that subscription is migrated, canceled, or changed after any notice required by law. By starting a subscription, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method on the disclosed recurring schedule. After checkout, School Support Desk provides a confirmation you can download, and Stripe provides a receipt or invoice to the email connected to the purchase.
You may cancel anytime through Manage billing. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid monthly or annual billing period unless Stripe shows otherwise. Partial months and partial years are not prorated or refunded except under the refund policy below or where required by law. Canceling does not delete desk records stored in your browser. While signed in, you can export or erase those local records even after paid access ends.
We will provide any notice of price or renewal-term changes required by applicable law before they take effect. A subscription grants a personal, nontransferable license to use the service while the subscription remains active; it does not transfer ownership of the software.
Refund policy
You may request a refund of your most recent School Support Desk subscription charge within seven calendar days of that charge by emailing support@schoolsupportdesk.com. Include the email used for the purchase, but do not include child, school, health, or desk-record details. We generally respond within two business days.
Refund requests after seven days are considered where required by law and for confirmed duplicate or unauthorized charges. Approved refunds return to the original payment method; the bank or card issuer controls when the credit appears. Canceling prevents future renewals at the end of the paid period but does not automatically refund an earlier charge.
Service limitations
The software and AI output may contain errors, change as the service improves, or be temporarily unavailable. No particular school response, service, decision, advocacy result, data preservation result, AI accuracy level, or uninterrupted availability is promised. Material changes affecting payment or data practices will be disclosed before they apply.
Acceptable use and ownership
Do not interfere with the service, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, resell access, impersonate another person, or use the service unlawfully. You retain rights in content you enter. School Support Desk retains rights in the software, design, templates, branding, and product materials.
Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” School Support Desk is not responsible for decisions made by a school or other third party, or for loss caused by an unlocked/shared device, browser-data deletion, failure to export a backup, or use of a draft without review. Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Contact, governing law, and changes
Questions, refunds, privacy requests, or disputes should first be sent to support@schoolsupportdesk.com. These Terms are governed by Minnesota law, without displacing consumer protections that apply where the purchaser lives. The effective version is identified above; renewed acceptance will be requested for material changes.
